  • Established RMS Revised Submission Date for the Santa Clara Meeting: The GovDTF established a Revised Submission Date for the Records Management Services RFP as 10-November-2008, the 4wk Rule for the OMG Technical Committee meeting in Santa Clara CA. In Santa Clara, another submission date vote is planned for the OMG TC Meeting in Washington DC where the submission team plans to move for issuance.

  • Planning Discussion for GovDTF Workshop in Washington DC, July 2009: In lieu of an "Information Day" at the OMG TC Meeting in Washington DC in March 2009, the GovDTF is planning a workshop for Washington DC in July 2009. The task force made an initial "sketch" of the event.
  • FEA Segment Architecture Reporting RFP: This work item has been activated from the Roadmap. Plans for moving forward with the work item were discussed.
  • Federal Transition Framework News: The Federal Transition Framework specification began the adoption votes for promotion to a formal Version 1.0. The Finalization Task Force expired without issues. The Beta 1 specification will be adopted as the first formal version.

  • New Revised Submission Date for Records Management Services RFP: Motion Passed: Establish a Revised Submission Date for the Electronic Records Management Services Specification for 25 August 2008, the 4-week rule for the Orlando 2008 OMG Technical Committee Meeting.

  • Skills Management RFP Work Item Begun: The objective of the RFP is to enable interoperability among a diverse set of existing standards and tools. The co-authors are Kenji Hirata of Toyo University and Michael Brown of SkillsNet Inc.

  • Records Management Maturity Model (RM3): The RM3 effort is re-establishing its momentum. We are targeting the presentation of a draft RFC for Orlando in September. Issuance is planned for the December meeting in Santa Clara.

  • The OMG sponsored a two-day "Government Information Days," 10-11 March 2008. The sessions spanned the following topics in a government context.

    • Enterprise Architecture

  • A  new Records Management Services revised submission date was established for 26 May 2008, the four-week rule for the Ottawa TC Meeting.

  • Records Management Services Revised Submission Date Added
    The Voting List of the Electronic Records Management Services (RMS) RFP added a Revised Submission date of 18 February 2008, the 3-week rule for the Washington DC meeting.
     

  • Model Based Acquisition Request for Information
    The RFI's scope was focused The draft MBA RFI was considered too general, causing concern that the results would be too scattered and not serve the purpose of crafting roadmap items. The approach of the MBA RFI was narrowed to serve the purposes of OMB Circular A-76.

  • Recommendation to Issue the Federal Transition Framework Specification
    • The GovDTF recommended issuance of the Federal Transition Framework Specification. The specification was reviewed and approved by the OMG Architecture Board. The specification is now under electronic vote by the Domain Technology Committee.

  • Federal Transition Framework Finalization Task Force (FTF FTF) Chartered by the Domain Technology Committee
    • In anticipation of successful passage of the Federal Transition Framework Specification by the Domain Technology Committee and the Board of Director's, a Finalization Task Force was chartered (the FTF FTF).

  • Skills Management RFI Response Review
    • Responses received to-date were reviewed by the GovDTF plenary. Completion of response review is anticipated for the Burlingame meeting in December 2007. At that time a Roadmap of Skills Management work items will be begun.

  • Federal Transition Framework Request for Proposal (FTF RFP) was issued by the Domain Technology Committee under recommendation of the GovDTF and the Architecture Board

  • Latin American Governments Working Group chartered. The Acting Chair of the new Working Group is Roberto Sasso, ICE, Costa Rica. The new WG is forming its GovDTF roadmap contributions.

  • The in-process whitepaper, "OMG Value Proposition for Government Organizations" was reviewed. The review draft can be found at:

    Work is continuing under its editor, Pam Corsini. We plan to issue this Whitepaper in the March 2007 TC meeting.

  • Roadmap Review

    • The "Model Based Acquisition" Request for Information (RFI) work item was restarted. It had been deferred due to our work overload. Chris Armstrong will serve as RFI editor. We plan to issue this RFI in the March 2007 TC meeting.
